Hello, and welcome to MoorCare Chiropractic.
I offer McTimoney Chiropractic here in the heart of Devon. I am located in Manaton near Bovey Tracey, with free parking. By car, I am easy to reach from most areas of Devon, including Exeter, Bovey Tracey, Mortonhampstead, Okehampton, Newton Abbot, and Ashburton. I am fully registered with the General Chiropractic Council and the McTimoney Chiropractic Association.
Together we will discover the causes of your pain and discomfort. We will look at the joints and muscles involved to understand the reasons for your symptoms. After your Chiropractic treatment, strengthening exercises and postural advice will be demonstrated for you to do between your Chiropractic appointments.
MLS Laser Therapy
MLS Laser therapy is a completely safe, non-invasive and pain free way of managing acute and chronic conditions including:
Reducing pain, and swelling and increasing mobility in Arthritis of the hands, feet, knees, spine, shoulder
Shoulder pain from Frozen shoulder and Rotator Cuff damage
Tendonitis including Achilles tendonitis, Tennis elbow and Golfer’s elbow
Wounds and Leg Ulcers
The laser supplies light energy directly to your cells, which encourages your body’s own healing processes, to reduce pain and inflammation and increase healing. We can use Laser on it’s own or alongside your Chiropractic care.

Do I need to undress?
While most chiropractic care can be performed while you are fully clothed, especially light tops and elasticated trousers, a more thorough examination of a specific area or the need to use an oil or cream to facilitate therapeutic massage may necessitate the removal of some clothing. Your privacy is assured through the use of a clinical gown.
Am I obliged to stick to my plan of care?
Not at all, you are in charge of your chiropractic care, and your plan of care will be based on us working together to find the best way to improve your health and well-being.
Is chiropractic care safe?
As a non-invasive natural health practice which involves neither medications nor surgery, chiropractic care is statistically safer than many other types of medical care and day-to-day activity.
Are there age restrictions on chiropractic care?
No, in fact, people of all age groups and during all stages of life have the potential to improve health through chiropractic care, including babies, children, teenagers, pregnant women and even in our later years, it’s never too late too feel better.
Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
Yes it is, we advise using chiropractic after the first trimester, and it can serve to adjust spinal and pelvic misalignment that causes lumbar pain both during and after pregnancy. As a natural health practice, it uses neither medication nor surgery, and is non-invasive.
Why might my child or teen need to see a chiropractor?
Carrying a heavy pack, using computers and mobile devices, and watching television can all lead to the development of a posture in which children and teens lean forward, placing excessive strain on the back. These posture issues may benefit from chiropractic and postural advice. Additionally, children who have sustained a sport or playground injury may find relief from pain and increased range of motion after chiropractic treatment.
Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?
No, your chiropractic adjustment is intended to offer pain relief, and it should not be painful. If you experience any discomfort, speak up immediately so that your plan of care can be changed.
What will my chiropractor do if they can’t treat me?
If your pain or symptoms are being caused by an underlying health condition that requires a general practitioner or specialist, your chiropractor will confer with your GP in order to make the appropriate referrals needed to find you care.
What my clients say:
“Kathryn has taken care of me and my family for many years…. whether it’s been an acute problem, such as when my Son hurt his coccyx falling on a windsurfer, or supporting me in keeping my body in alignment for my horsemanship, her treatments are so effective. I trust Kathryn implicitly and highly recommend her. Kathryn has enabled me to feel so good in my body and I’m very grateful. Her treatment room is a sanctuary and I always look forward to our sessions.” SS Exeter.
“As a keen sports allrounder with an extremely active military career behind me, I always expected to pay a physical price in later years. Kathryn has shown me that debilitating pain need not be accepted as an inevitable consequence of an active lifestyle. In a few short weeks, Kathryn has me in less pain and with more mobility than I have enjoyed in years. It would be no exaggeration to say that she has changed my life……thank you”. GM Devon.
